Bridge to Terabithia (Mariona Jiménez)

Today in the Culture and values class of 1st of ESO, we have worked with the film A bridge to Terabithia in English. We watched it in class a couple of weeks ago, before the Easter Holidays.

The film tells the story of a boy who comes from a poor family and his high-class neighbour who has just arrived from New York to live in a rural place.

The two teenagers will become friends and they will create a fantasy world called Terabithia. Moreover, they will spend their free time together in an abandoned tree house. In this house, they will be able to imagine a better world and forget the problems they have at the high school and at home.

By watching this film, we have finished with the topic ‘the culture of peace and the resolution of conflicts in a peaceful way’. It has been very rewarding to introduce new concepts in English and to check that we can also understand them and have fun in another language.
